For poetry, I’m currently loving work by June Jordan, Pat Parker, Dianne Suess, and Carmen Gimenez Smith

Ugh yes I am always losing things I want to write about while I am driving. Do you ever use voice notes?

hmm haha, it doesn’t appeal to me, something about being able to see the words as i write/type them is very important to me, i feel like when i am looking at what i write i naturally start to expand on them and write more, or have the freedom to switch out the phrasing or form to my liking, whereas a voice recording is so abstract that it makes me lost any train of thought that i had in the first place. i’m not opposed to it, i should give it a try. sometimes though when i wake up in the middle of the night i make a voice memo to record my dreams because i’m not awake enough to type. hard for me to listen back to the sound my own voice too i think
